So putting the verses together we see that the cross was not a defeat fro Christ but rather a victory. In the spiritual realm he defeated every principality and power, and he rendered them powerless against himself. He reveals their weakness, by his resurrection. Death could not hold him. We walk and live in that victory. We are able to enforce that victory against the spiritual darkness that comes against us.
